The district is accepting applications for a certificated tutor pool.  The applicant can expect to work a varied schedule, i.e., before school, during school, after school. Tutoring can take place at school, at student’s or at another arranged location. The number of hours required will vary depending on the student(s) being tutored.

 

Applicants Must Have:

·         Current Washington State Teaching Certificate with proper endorsements.

·         Successful teaching experience with students with a variety of educational or behavioral needs.

·         Ability to provide varied instruction.

·         Ability to work and be successful with special needs students.

·         Evidence of strong classroom management skills.

·         Evidence of strong assessment and instructional skills.

·         Experience/training integrating technology into the curriculum.

·         Ability to plan, implement and evaluate state-of-the-art remedial curriculum.

·         Evidence of leadership, positive human relations and organizational skills.

·         Ability to work with a team of other professional and para-educators.

·         Demonstrated ability and performance in working as a positive and supportive team member in a collegial school community and grade level team environment.

·         Demonstrated performance and ability to communicate positively supporting a collegial school environment.

·         Demonstrated ability to positively contribute as a team member with other staff members and administrators.

Job Title:                  ASB Advisor

Location:                  Sultan Middle School

Opening Date:         March 23, 2012

Salary:                       $1,514

 

It shall be the responsibility of the ASB Advisor to supervise, organize, and coordinate all ASB activities including meetings with officers, monthly meetings with all representatives, organize and attend leadership conferences and assist with fund raising.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Guide and supervise club activities and ensure compliance with the law.

·         Set expectations, clarify, plan, and set objectives for clubs.

·         Supervise and evaluate students and activities.

·         Monitor purchase orders, follow correct district operating procedures.

·         Monitor fund-raising activities, cash handling and reconciliation. Have all money deposited on same day as the money is collected.

·         Maintain inventory (equipment, uniforms, etc.).

·         Know what activities are taking place, utilize creativity, and demonstrate skills and preparedness.

·         Oversee any budget, and work with students to anticipate revenues and expenditures.

·         Act as a role model.

·         Work and communicate with the Administrators regarding club events/activities, issues/concerns, facility usage, etc.

·         Keep a record of all meetings.

 

MENTAL DEMANDS:

·         Required to deal with a wide range of student behaviors and academic abilities, or with a wide range of physical or emotional disabilities.

·         Required to adapt to shifting priorities and to re-channel work efforts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

·         Exposed to visual display terminal.

·         Exposed to infectious diseases carried by students.

·         Exposed to student noise levels.

 

POSITION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and the public.

·         Ability to operate a computer and learn the operation of specific software programs for record keeping.

·         Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

·         Ability to deal with students in a warm and confident manner.

·         Ability to learn effective behavior management techniques.

·         Knowledge of student safety rules and procedures.

·         Ability to organize activities.

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and staff.

·         Ability to give and follow directions.

EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, FORMAL TRAINING:

·         High school graduation or equivalent and experience working with school-aged students
